Rain at Four
A small umbrella makes the walk home slower, but a shared walk gives Xiao Ming and Xiao Yu their first real conversation.
四点的雨
下午四点，下雨了。

Xiàwǔ sì diǎn, xià yǔ le.
At four in the afternoon, it starts raining.
小雨在学校里，看天。
小雨在學校裡，看天。
Xiǎo Yǔ zài xuéxiào lǐ, kàn tiān.
Xiao Yu is in the school, looking at the sky.
小明有伞，但是伞很小。
小明有傘，但是傘很小。
Xiǎo Míng yǒu sǎn, dànshì sǎn hěn xiǎo.
Xiao Ming has an umbrella, but it is very small.
他说：“我们走吧。”
他說：「我們走吧。」
Tā shuō: “Wǒmen zǒu ba.”
He says: “Let's go.”
小雨问：“你家在哪里？”
小雨問：「你家在哪裡？」
Xiǎo Yǔ wèn: “Nǐ jiā zài nǎlǐ?”
Xiao Yu asks: “Where is your home?”
小明说：“在学校后面。”
小明說：「在學校後面。」
Xiǎo Míng shuō: “Zài xuéxiào hòumiàn.”
Xiao Ming says: “It is behind the school.”
小雨说：“我的家不在这里。”
小雨說：「我的家不在這裡。」
Xiǎo Yǔ shuō: “Wǒ de jiā bú zài zhèlǐ.”
Xiao Yu says: “My home is not here.”
他们说：“明天见。”
他們說：「明天見。」
Tāmen shuō: “Míngtiān jiàn.”
They say: “See you tomorrow.”
